Nandere Parish Youth Chaplain’s Father Dies

The father of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Kato Lubega, Youth Chaplain of Our Lady of Grace Nandere Parish, Nicholas Lubega has died.
He was 83 years old.
Fr. Lubega broke the sorrowful news at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday morning through the Youth for Christ (Y4C) KLD TEAM WhatsApp platform, inviting the faithful to unite with him in prayer during this time of bereavement.
According to Fr. Lubega, his beloved father, the late Nicholas Lubega (Ssalongo), will be laid to rest on Monday, March 2, 2026.
The deceased was born on September 10, 1943.
“May the Good Lord grant him a peaceful rest,” Fr. Lubega wrote, entrusting his departed father to the infinite mercy of God.
Shortly thereafter, he shared the provisional burial arrangements as follows:

- Holy Mass at 9:00 a.m.
- Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m.
- Holy Mass at Kasaala Parish Church at 2:00 p.m.
After the 2:00 p.m. Holy Mass, the body will be transported to the family home of the late Nicholas Lubega in Mabuye Village.
Fr. Lubega indicated that the mortal remains will repose at his ancestral home until Monday, allowing family members, friends, and the Christian faithful to keep vigil, offer condolences, and pay their final respects in a spirit of hope grounded in the Resurrection.
Details concerning Sunday’s liturgical program, as well as the time for the Requiem Holy Mass and final send-off on Monday, will be communicated in due course.
As a diocesan family, we unite with Rev. Fr. Lubega and his bereaved family in prayer, commending the soul of the departed to the loving mercy of Almighty God.
May Christ, who conquered death, welcome him into the eternal light of His Kingdom, and may Our Lady comfort all who mourn.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
Rev. Fr. Francis Luboneza, the Kasana-Luweero Diocesan Youth Chaplain, extended his heartfelt condolences to his brother priest following the loss of his beloved father.
“Oh, so sorry, Fr. Omukama akugumye; Taata Omukama amuwumuze mirembe,” Fr. Luboneza wrote in solidarity, entrusting the bereaved family to God’s comfort and praying that the Lord grant the departed eternal peace.
