Diocese Announces New Date for Office Closure

The Chancellor of Kasana–Luweero Diocese, Rev. Fr. Dr. Emmanuel Ssekyanzi Lyevuze, has announced a change in the official date for the Diocese’s Christmas holiday closure. The Diocesan offices will now close on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, a day earlier than initially planned.

According to the 2025 Diocesan Year Planner, offices had been scheduled to close on Thursday, December 18, 2025. However, in a communication to the Diocesan Communications Office, Fr. Lyevuze requested that the updated date be shared with all staff and the public.

“Could you please pass on the information that the official closure of offices as well as the End of Year Staff Party will be on the 17th, instead of the 18th, as earlier envisaged,” his email read in part.

The Communications Office has since acknowledged receipt of the directive and issued it as the official announcement.

Once the offices close, the Administration Block—which houses the offices of the Bishop, Vicar General, Chancellor, and departments such as Pastoral, Education, and Health—will remain under lock and key for the holiday period.

The date for reopening after the Christmas and New Year festivities is traditionally communicated on the day of closure. The announcement is expected on December 17.
