Preparations are complete for the solemn closure of the Holy Jubilee Year in Kasana–Luweero Diocese.

According to Rev. Fr. Dr. Cyril Kasigwa Sande, the Kasana-Luweero Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator, “The day will begin with the Sacrament of Confession, starting at 7:30 a.m., allowing the faithful to receive God’s mercy and forgiveness in preparation for the celebration.”

Fr. Kasigwa says that Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa, Bishop of Kasana–Luweero Diocese, will preside over a special liturgical function inside the Sacristy, after which the solemn procession will commence at 9:30 a.m.

The Holy Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, Queen of Peace, Kasana Cathedral.

Fr. Kasigwa encourages congregants to “arrive early to participate fully in Confessions and to find seating inside and outside the Cathedral, ensuring they can take part in all the liturgical rites of the day.”

Asked about the program, Fr. Kasigwa explained, “The main focus will be the rite of the closure of the Holy Jubilee Year, emphasizing prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

He notes that there will be minimal speeches so that attention remains on the sacred celebrations and the faithful’s encounter with God.

The diocese invites all the faithful to “join in this historic moment of grace, marking the conclusion of a year dedicated to spiritual renewal, thanksgiving, and jubilation in honor of God’s enduring mercy.
