Parish History
St. Anthony Catholic Parish, Migyera, was canonically erected on 29th April 2007. The Parish was carved out of Nakasongola Parish in response to the growing pastoral needs of the faithful and the Church’s mission to bring the Gospel ever closer to the People of God.
Since its establishment, the Parish has continued to grow as a vibrant Christian community, rooted in the Sacraments, nourished by the Word of God, and committed to works of charity and evangelization.
Liturgical Schedule
- Daily Holy Mass: 7:00 a.m.
- Sunday Holy Masses:
- 7:30 a.m. (English)
- 9:30 a.m. (Luganda)
- Baptisms: Administered on the last Sunday of each month.
- Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confessions):
- Every Saturday before Morning Mass and after Mass as arranged.
Parish Ministries and Apostolates
The Parish fosters active participation of the lay faithful through various ecclesial movements and ministries, including:
- Catholic Charismatic Renewal
- Legion of Mary
- Catechists’ Apostolate
These groups play a vital role in evangelization, spiritual formation, and the strengthening of Small Christian Communities.
Pastoral and Community Outreach
In keeping with the Church’s social mission, the Parish is engaged in:
- Child Sponsorship and Education Programme – Supporting the education and holistic development of vulnerable children.
- Home Visitations – Pastoral visits to the sick, elderly, and homebound, offering prayer, comfort, and the Sacraments where necessary.
